Transformers Movie Protoform Optimus Prime custom painted

New better quality pictures.

This toy had really ugly paint job. I saw it as a great opportunity to give it a custom paint job. I am gonna buy more and do some more custom repaints.

I like the protoform design, it has very good potential for custom painting. I only bought limited acrylics or else it would have been an even better paint job.

Transformers KT Figures

KT actually stands for Kaiyodo Takara. It feels very good quality, very detailed and I like the paint job. These will be displayed with my other smaller figures.

Transformers Animated Voyager Class Optimus Prime

Updated pics:

I love ball joints. It really is the next revolution in articulation but there are problems with ball joints. First of all, it gets loose after fiddling with the toy for a bit. It chips the paint on the ball joint if any and the rounded joints sometimes looks out of place with the toy. Anyway....

It looks like a gorilla, I think its because of the success of Beast Wars/Beast Machines. The design esthetics sort of carries over. I personally like the clean minimalist design, it looks new age to me.

The blaster looks like a total wuss. I prefer the old one. This one shoots water though

The blaster and axe combines to become sort of a jet pack

Lets move on to vehicle mode. I don't really like the vehicle mode. Somehow the futuristic flat-nose cab does not really grow on me. I still prefer the original G1 cab.

The toys is currently still out in the market now, still very hot item. You can find them in major departmental stores. I might buy myself another one and give it a custom paint job.

Transformers Update: Revoltech Ultra Magnus

Just a small update. The Ultra Magnus version of Revoltech. Not going to take it out of the box but you can see my earliest post on Revoltech Convoy.

Transformers PLA Kit Super Grand Convoy

Picture updates:

One thing I do not get. This was going for US$10 on amazon.com and nobody seems to be buying it. I mean, US$10. Cut down on those big macs for a week and you surely can afford one.

Its actually a modeling kit that requires a bit of work to put together. There's not much articulation to the toy. Bland colours and the stick-on decals does not help it either. The blaster packs quite a punch though so keep away from children and be careful not to poke anyone's eye out.

Transformers Hybrid Style THS-01 Galaxy Convoy(Optimus Prime)

This has got to be one of my favourites. I am not going to try to describe it, I will just let the pictures, however sucky it came from my camera do the talking.

The basic truck mode with no add-ons

Now with add-ons, its suppose to be sort of a cybertronian fire truck

Alternate flying mode, reminds me of Astrotrain

Basic Galaxy Convoy mode

Sort of a base mode

The winning shots. This is what you buy the THS 01 for.

Need I say more? If you have the original GC-01 Galaxy Convoy (the bigger one) and liked that one, this one is definitely way better. The paint job and details are fantastic, I was sold on the semi-glossy silver and blue. Its just amazing for a toy only the size of an adult palm. Find it and buy it.

Transformers Robot Masters Beast Convoys

Updated Pictures:

The easier of the Robotmasters trio to collect, cheaper too. The trios I am referring to are of course the G1 Convoy trio (which I just completed collecting), the Lio Convoy trio (which I am still looking for the last one) and the trio which I am showing today, Beast Convoy trio.

Nothing impressive really. I preferred the bigger TM-SP DX which I posted earlier. Although I must say the red and black Beast Convoy looked much better over the original one. The black one is an EHobby exclusive which can be found rather easily, it comes with a chrome special weapon which I did not feature here. If you like the Beast Wars series, definitely do not miss these as they are easily dissed by collectors.

Transformers Blast Punch Optimus Primal

Updated photos with better lighting equipment.

End of updates

The Blast Punch is smaller than the Air Attack Primal, not as articulated and follows a weird bright orange colour scheme. But in beast mode, the face is actually one of the better primal faces. I just hoped they had a better colour scheme.

Another thing which I do not like is the limited bending of the arms. You almost can't bend the arms. You can't really pose the toy without the legs doing splits. If you really want to get beast machines Primal, best to make it an R.I.D Air Attack Optimus Primal.

Transformers Mega SCF Armada Optimus Prime

Updated with pictures.

Complete waste of plastic. Lousy colours, virtually zero poseability and screwed up details, NO TRANSFORMATION. Takara really sucked on this one. Transformer fans can give this a miss.

At least the weapons look nice and there is a cute little Bumblebee. Other than that, forget buying this unless you are trying to get every available prime there is like me.

Transformers Spychangers R.I.D Laser Convoy

Photos updates:

Added R.I.D Scourge spychanger to my collection.

The Spychanger series of Transformers is one of the smaller toylines. They look detailed given its small size. The one on the left is a limited release that came with the Japan Transformers movie DVD. Both are the same mold and are based on R.I.D Scourge design which basically is the same mold as Laser Optimus Prime. The special edition is hard to find and the right normal edition is almost selling out at China Square Central.

Transformers Metal Monument Beast Convoy

No, Its not spoiled, this metal monument has a special feature not found in most other Transformers statue which I like, inter-changeable heads. It comes with 2 heads featuring 3 'faces' if that's what you call on a robot.

Nice details, very heavy and I also like the bronze chest. One thing to be careful about, do not drop this on anyone or even on tile floors. You can find this at China Square Central 2nd floor, going for very cheap, SGD$15 or maybe less. It makes a cool paper weight at least.

Transformers ACT 7 Star Convoy PVC

Part of my growing PVC collection, nothing much to say here except that I have not bought the actual Star Convoy Toy yet, the actual transforming one I mean. Anybody offering to sell me a Star Convoy can post me a message here.

Transformer Choro Q Convoy (Optimus Prime)

Pics update:

Today I will be showing the Choro Q Convoy, both the metallic version and the TV version.

On the left we have the metallic version, on the right is the TV version. I like the vehicle mode more than the robot mode. Basically both of them are sort of a novelty, poseability is virtuality non existant. Well, they are still Optimuses. Don't ask me where to get them. Go Ebay.
